As a photographer, I am used to documenting important life events for my clients and family. I am always filled with gratitude that they trust me with their memories. I love photographing children, children with their parents, tweens, (ages 8-12, ah, the “between” years), and seniors, (high school AND those over 55).
But you know what I think is REALLY important that people don’t think about? Capturing the emotion, the love, and pure joy of grandchildren with their grandparents. As you can see in the image above, there are grandparents, parents, and grandchildren in this picture. As lovely and as special as this image is to me, I would love to have an image alone with each one of the adults that helped shape me into who I am today.
You may ask, “Why is this so important to me?” Well, to start with, I am a grandmother, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having images of my granddaughters and me. But more than that, I realized, sadly, that I don’t have any images of my grandparents and me. Sure, I have images of the whole family, (like above) but not one with just my grandmother (either one of them), and not one with my grandfathers. Actually, I can’t even find an image of my mother and me or my father and me. We usually had group shots.
I realize that with a cellphone, which has a great quality camera, that probably isn’t the case anymore, but there is a difference between a candid shot and an image you enlarge and hang on the wall.
So why have professional images taken?
- Quality is the number one reason. Professional photographers have studied composition, lighting, and posing. It makes a difference.
- Just the experience during the photo shoot is creating special memories for you and the grandchild.
- We aren’t going to be here forever. And when we are gone, they will be able to look at that image and remember you with love in their heart.
I would love it if you would let me capture and preserve this precious time for you and each one of your grandchildren. It doesn't have to be a big deal or take a lot of time. What are you waiting for?
I am taking appointments now, so call for more information: 559.786.5340.
Of course, this applies to families, siblings, and parents. So book today.
