As a family photographer in the Central Valley, I'm so used to no rain, to dry grass, dry riverbeds, dry, dry everything! But this year has seen a wonderful reversal of that life-time dilemma. California has seen a lot of rain this year, and the St. John's Riverwalk is brimming with wonderful places for a photo shoot. The grass is long, the river is flowing, and butterflies and bugs are everywhere. In fact, this cute little man found more roly-poly bugs than I have ever seen in my life. After a week of high ninety-degree weather, Saturday night the rain began again and I wasn't sure if Heidi and Cash would want to still have the session on Sunday morning. But even thought the grass was wet, they were real troopers. As you can see from some of the images from the morning, they have a very special mother-son relationship.
